SMU Catholic Videos
When COVID began, the Catholic Campus Ministry at SMU had to adapt with our messaging online. In August 2020, the ministry was attempting to get back on campus, while keeping in line with the University’s policies. As the Communications Director, I had to find another creative way of communicating with our students and parishioners aside from Zoom, social media, and email marketing. The ministry’s two biggest setbacks were that the University required us to implement strict rules for Mass, and fundraising for the ministry was suffering due to COVID.
In collaboration with the Director of Campus Ministry and Director of Development, I created videos to communicate with our students, parishioners, and benefactors.
Return to Mass
The University required the ministry to implement strict guidelines in order for us to bring Mass back on campus for our students and parishioners.
I created a video stating clear guidelines on what returning to Mass would look like at Perkins Chapel at SMU. I filmed all the content, created the script and voiceover, and edited it in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Development Campaigns
In collaboration with the Director of Development, we created videos as a supplement to the virtual fundraising campaigns. We successfully increased our fundraising efforts with the St. John Henry Newman Campaign and the 2020 Fall Celebration. I filmed content, edited the scripts, and edited the videos in Adobe Premiere Pro.
